About EdgeVend
EdgeVend is a digital B2B marketplace dedicated to precision cutting tools and related solutions for CNC machining.
We work with leading manufacturers and distributors to bring together solid carbide tools, indexable inserts, toolholders, adapters and accessories on one platform. EdgeVend is operated by EdgeVend UG and serves professional customers across the EU.
EdgeVend is primarily a multi-brand marketplace and distributor, not a manufacturer.
We source products directly from manufacturers and act as seller of record for your orders, unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout. This allows you to access multiple brands, series and geometries through one digital channel, one account and one invoice.
EdgeVend is a B2B-only platform.
We sell exclusively to:
- Companies and commercial users (e.g. job shops, OEMs, mold & die, automotive, aerospace, medical, general engineering)
- Legal entities under public law
- Registered freelancers and professionals
We do not sell to consumers within the meaning of section 13 BGB (no private end-users, no hobby use).
We currently focus on customers within the European Union (EU) and selected European markets.
Shipping availability depends on:
- Delivery country
- Product type (e.g. standard vs. controlled items)
- Export control and logistics constraints
You can see available countries during checkout. If your country is not listed, please contact us and we will check individual options.
EdgeVend combines:
- Multi-brand assortment – several manufacturers on one platform
- Digital selection tools – material- and operation-based finders, wizards and calculators
- Transparent technical data – ISO-based material groups, grades, geometries and cutting profiles
- Modern B2B checkout – order history, self-service, documentation
In short: we aim to feel like a digital sales engineer that helps you quickly find the right tool, not just a list of part numbers.

- Speed up invoicing and accounting on both sides
If you do not yet have a VAT ID, you can still register as a business in many cases – but we may request additional documentation.
No. EdgeVend is a business-to-business marketplace.
We do not conclude contracts with consumers / private individuals and do not offer consumer withdrawal rights (Widerrufsrecht). By placing an order, you confirm that you are acting in a commercial or professional capacity.
We recommend that each user has their own login linked to the same company profile.
This has advantages:
- Clear tracking of who ordered what and when
- Better internal control and approval flows
- Easier password management and user offboarding
If you need more advanced role/approval setups, please contact us to discuss options.
Use the “Forgot password” link on the login page.

Manufacturer
Part number
Drawing or datasheet (if available)
Often we can add the tool to our catalog or suggest a technically equivalent or improved alternative.
Yes, we can often support semi-standard or custom tools through our manufacturing partners.
Typical cases:
- Modified diameters, lengths or corner radii
- Special profiles or multi-step tools
- Application-optimized geometries for high-volume production
Simply reach out with your drawing, target material, machine and batch size. We will clarify feasibility, lead time and pricing with our partners.
Tool Selection & Application Support
You have several options:
- Search – use the search bar to make entries
- Browse all Products – use filters to narrow your search
- Product Catalog – Classic drill-down through product categories
- Tool Finder by Material – start from your workpiece material or ISO group
- Tool Finder by Operation – start from the operation (e.g. shoulder milling, deep-hole drilling)
- Guided Advisor (“Mr. Edge”) – a conversational wizard that asks a few questions about material, operation and engagement and then proposes suitable tools.
These tools are designed to help guide you through tool selection.
No. All digital recommendations, wizards, calculators and suggestions are non-binding guidance only.
They do not replace:
- Your own experience
- A sensible process try-out
- An assessment of your machine, clamping and process stability
You remain responsible for final tool and parameter selection and for ensuring safe operation.
Yes. For many combinations of operation and material, we provide:
- Recommended cutting speeds and feeds
- Typical radial and axial engagement ranges
- Notes on tool entry, ramping, trochoidal milling, etc.
These are meant as starting points. Fine-tuning is always necessary based on your specific setup, part geometry and performance requirements.
Where relevant, we indicate recommended holder types (e.g. shrinkfit, hydraulic, collet chuck, Weldon, Whistle-Notch) for certain tools and operations.
We also give general guidance on:
- When to prioritise runout and concentricity
- When torque and pull-out security matter most
- When to use dampened bars or special anti-vibration solutions
You will find this information either on the product page or in dedicated application guides.
Our aim is to act as a digital productivity partner.
You can:
- Use our machining calculators (feeds & speeds, MRR, cycle time, cost per part)
- Combine them with process rules for HPC/HFC/trochoidal milling
- Contact us with your current tools and parameters if you want a second opinion
We can often suggest tool and strategy changes that reduce cost per part, increase throughput or improve stability.
Yes, in many cases we can support you remotely via:
- Email and phone
- Shared screenshots, CAM screenshots or photos of your setup
- Exchange of cutting data, process parameters and failure photos
For complex or high-volume projects, on-site support by our partners may also be possible.

- Inform us immediately about transport damage, missing items or discrepancies
Keep the packaging and damaged goods until the case is clarified. We will support you in handling transport claims and arranging replacements where appropriate.
Yes. If it is reasonable for you, we may ship partial deliveries so you can start production sooner.
Partial deliveries will be invoiced separately where appropriate.
Returns, RMAs & Warranty
We generally do not offer free returns for ordering errors.
In individual cases, and at our discretion, we may accept returns of:
- Standard catalogue items
- In original, unopened packaging
- Within a defined time window
A restocking or handling fee may apply. Custom-made or special tools are normally excluded from return.
Please contact our support and provide:
- Order number and invoice number
- Item(s) you want to return
- Reason for the return (e.g. ordering error, damaged in transit, suspected defect)
If a return is approved, you will receive an RMA number and instructions. Returns without RMA may be refused or processed with delay.
If the return is due to:
- A confirmed delivery error (wrong item) or
- A confirmed manufacturing defect,
we will normally cover or credit reasonable return shipping costs.
If the return is due to ordering errors, surplus stock or other reasons on your side, return shipping and handling fees are usually at your expense.
For tools that fail unexpectedly or show suspected defects, we ask you to provide:
- Order and invoice numbers
- Part number (MPN) and batch, if available
- Application details (material, operation, parameters, tool holder, clamping)
- Photos of the tool, chip formation and workpiece
We use this information to analyse the case together with the manufacturer. Only confirmed manufacturing defects justify warranty claims. Application-related issues may still lead to recommendations for improved performance.
Unless otherwise stated, the warranty period for business customers is typically 12 months from delivery, in line with our General Terms and Conditions.
Wear due to normal use, application-related tool life and performance variations are not considered defects.
Tool Life, Performance & Application Issues
Not necessarily. Tool life is influenced by many factors:
- Machine stability and spindle condition
- Toolholder runout and clamping
- Workpiece material condition and hardness
- Programming (entry strategy, engagement, coolant, etc.)
In most cases, reduced tool life is an application or setup issue, not a manufacturing defect. We are happy to help analyse the situation and propose changes in tool, holder or parameters.
